What time is Check-in / Check-out?

Check-in time is 2pm for campsites.
4pm for cabins.

Check out time is 11am.

Is Mammoth Mountain RV Park open during the winter?

Yes, we are open year-round (365 days).

How far is the Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort?

Mammoth Mountain RV Park campground is located 1.4 miles from The Village. You can take the gondola up to Canyon Lodge from The Village.

Main Lodge is 5 miles. Eagle Lodge is 2.4 miles. All Mammoth ski areas are easilly accessible via shuttle.

How far is the closest shuttle stop?

The Purple line shuttle stops in front of the campground. The Red line can be accessed by walking 2 blocks. Check Eastern Sierra Transit for shuttle schedule.

Where is Mammoth Lake?

There is no Mammoth Lake. The town got its name from the Mammoth mines near the lakes basin.
Nearby lakes to visit include Twin Lakes, Mary, George, Mamie, Horseshoe, Convict, June, and Crowley.

How far in advance should I make reservations?

Please make your reservations as soon as possible. Summers are very busy and often sell out 1 year in advance. Holidays, special events, and during/after snow storms in the winter are also popular.

Can I use the Mammoth Mountain RV Park shower facilities if I'm not staying there?

Yes, please stop by the office to purchase a shower pass.

Do you have overflow parking?

We offer paid overflow parking for visitors not able to park all their vehicles at condo, hotel, rental. We also assist with multi-day paid parking for wilderness hikers.

There is a shuttle stop in front of campground that can connect you to your final destination or get you close to major trailheads. Check Eastern Sierra Transit for shuttle schedule.

Should I make a reservation for overflow condo parking?

All condo parking is on a first-come, first serve basis. Just stop by the office to pay and pick up a pass.

Will I be able to drive up there during the winter? Do I need chains?

They do a good job of keeping the roads clear of snow. However, we always recommend carrying chains when traveling in the Eastern Sierra.

Can we bring our dog(s)?

Well behaved dogs are welcome at Mammoth Mountain RV Park (max 3 per campsite).
Dogs must be on leash at all times per Mammoth Lakes Municipal Code.

Do you allow campfires?

Campfires are allowed when no fire restrictions are in place.
Please follow Campfire Safety.

Do bears come through Mammoth Mountain RV Park?

Yes, black bears can be found throughout Inyo National Forest. They do occasionally visit our campground, especially in the summer.
